ART: What we require to print your project
What kind of file do I need for printing?
Vector Files are preferred, otherwise raster files at full size.
If your art is useable as received, there is no setup charge ($50 minimum wording, $99 minimum full color/photographic). We will advise you once we review your file.
Artwork Guidelines: What We Need to Print Your Project
When you’re ready to order custom signs, decals, or printed products, the quality of your artwork makes all the difference. Here’s what you need to know before sending us your files.
What Kind of File Do I Need?
Best option: Vector files (preferred).
Next best: Raster files at full size and high resolution.
👉 Send your artwork for review. If it’s ready to go, there’s no setup charge.

Text-only jobs start at $60 minimum.

Full-color/photographic jobs start at $99 minimum.
We’ll let you know if adjustments are needed.
Recommended Artwork Guidelines
1. Use Professional Design Software

Preferred formats: PDF, AI, PSD, EPS, SVG
-
Acceptable formats: JPG, PNG, BMP
-
Always convert text to outlines (instructions below).
2. Create Artwork at Actual Print Size

Set your canvas/artboard to the final print/cut size.

Avoid “placed files” (see below).

For raster artwork, set resolution to 300 dpi at full size. Enlarging low-res art will cause blurry or pixelated prints.
3. Convert All Fonts to Outlines
Editable fonts don’t always display correctly on different computers. Converting ensures accuracy.

Adobe Illustrator: Select all text → Type → Create Outlines.

Affinity Designer: Select text → Layers → Convert to Outlines.
4. Check Cut & Print Specs

Spot color: 1, 2, or 3-color examples are fine.

Avoid non-printing gaps smaller than ⅛ inch (they may fill in).

Printing areas smaller than ⅛ inch may not print.
What Is Vector Art?
Vector art is made of mathematical curves (Bezier curves), not pixels. This means it can be scaled to any size without losing detail or sharpness. Perfect for sign printing, cutting, and enlarging.
Don’t Have Artwork Ready?
No problem—our Art Department can create or fix files for you (for an additional fee). Send us what you have, and we’ll quote you before starting.
File Types by Project

Awning letters, decals, reflective letters, vinyl cutting → Vector files required.

Banners, tablecloths, full-color signs → PDF, PNG, or Vector files accepted.
👉 Got a JPG, GIF, DOC, or PPT?
We may be able to recreate your artwork (quoted separately). Note: custom artwork is non-refundable.
What Is “Placed Art”?
A placed file is one that has an image dropped inside it without embedding the details. These files usually don’t have enough information for printing.

That’s okay. Just send what you have—we’ll evaluate it free of charge. Be sure to include your contact information so we can follow up.
