Frames for the Sides of Moving Vehicles
User Installation Instructions
-
Do not allow wind to get behind your sign insert; trapped air can blow a sign out of the frame while driving.
-
After positioning the frame on the vehicle, seal all gaps between the frame and the vehicle body with a continuous wind barrier.
-
Use outdoor‑grade silicone, caulking, or outdoor double‑sided foam weather‑stripping along all edges, especially the bottom edge of the frame.
-
Make sure there are no open gaps where air can enter behind the graphic from the front, sides, bottom, or top of the frame.
-
Secure the frame mechanically to the bus using screws or bolts appropriate for the vehicle wall or mounting surface.
-
The size, type, and spacing of screws or bolts must be determined by your structural engineer or qualified installer for your specific vehicle.
-
For larger graphics, apply Velcro strips to the bus body and the back of the graphic panel to support the center area and reduce the compound constant jarring of road bumps.
-
Press the graphic firmly onto the Velcro and check that it lies flat with no loose, billowing areas.
-
Whenever possible, use a rigid or semi‑rigid graphic panel instead of a flexible very thin PVC for vehicle‑mounted frames.
-
Inspect the installation regularly and re‑seal or re‑tighten any areas where the sealant, foam tape, or fasteners have loosened.
